PTA Chair Annual Report 2024-2025
MAY 2024
AGM.
Got in contact with Healthy Kidz about providing colour powder for us for the colour run. Starting gathering business sponsors. Set up a WhatsApp group for PTA helpers. Created advertising for the colour run.
JUNE 2024
Printed sponsors for buckets for colour run and sourced and cleaned buckets. Made a schedule for it and arranged volunteers, risk assessment, ice poles for children. Made balloon display.
Colour Run- £1808.32 profit raised. Got sponsors from community businesses for the paint and children got sponsorship for the event. No set rate charged to avoid excluding children based on economic status. Tesco provided fruit and water.
AUGUST 2024
Provided tea/coffee for parents in the morning during settling in at school. Met lots of new parents. Bought fruit, biscuits, juice and a few other bits for the staff room.
SEPTEMBER 2024
Signed up to Asda Cashpot for schools and promoted it. Got a date for Halloween activities.
OCTOBER 2024
Had a PTA meeting.
Arranged volunteers, tuck shop and risk assessment for Halloween activities. Made craft activities with Gemma.
Decorated the school for Halloween. Halloween Party for Nursery-P4- No Charge. Halloween Disco P5-P7. Children paid in this time. £183.13 raised through admission and Tuck shop. Pumpkin competition arranged. Some parents didn't take these home. Need to rethink this for future years. Put away Halloween decorations.
NOVEMBER 2024
Put up Christmas decorations. Our tree was broken in transit to a Christmas tree competition in Church. Started Xmas prep including speaking to Santa and arranging presents for this year. Gave Christmas photo props to Nicola in kitchen for Xmas dinner. My parents in law used their senior discount in Iceland to get haribos for all the children.
DECEMBER 2024
Decorated school for Christmas and took them down afterwards.
Our Xmas actor let us down at the last minute and we needed to source a new one. Thankfully we got a reference from Kierna and got Shane Colman. We were relying on him for transport too. An uncle from the school kindly stepped in with a tractor which was really well received. Children all received sweets from Santa, funded by the PTA. Provided photo props for the Christmas Dinner in school. Disco and party ran well and children enjoyed both.

Agreed to fund playground painting of £1774
APRIL 2025
Agreed to move AGM to October 2025
Organised raffle prizes for the pupil council beetle drive. PTA members went along and sold tickets for them. The school community really did so well with these prizes. They were top class.
MAY 2025
Mrs Ferguson got funding for PTA for a community festival for £997.50 and art project at the local nursing home for £855. Agreed to pay £800 towards end of year trips again. Agreed to have bouncy castles at the colour run this year. Having ice cream man out for a treat with some of the mudc community grant. Arranged colour run volunteers, paint buckets and sponsors on these. Great support from parents in getting lots of business sponsors this year. PTA meeting. Risk assessment done for colour run.
JUNE 2025
Gemma and I went and facilitated the ice cream day at the school.
Colour run very successful. Newell Stores sponsored fruit and water. Paint powder left over for next time. Lots of volunteers and lots of fun for the kids.
AUGUST 2025
Provided biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit, tissues, juice, kitchen roll, sweetener, salt, pepper etc for staffroom,
SEPTEMBER 2025
AGM advertising. Made posters for eco council costume swap and disco.
Organised Halloween disco and party dates. Bought crafts. Aimee has got tuck shop and chocolate marshmallow supplies.
October-AGM
Thank you for having me as chairperson again this year. I have learned a lot along the way. Thank you to the committee team and staff at the school for doing such a great job and working so well together. Thank you to all our volunteers over the year and all the businesses that have sponsored us and given donations.
