Tri-County Football Tournament 2025

17th Jun 2025
Tri-County Football Tournament 2025 – A Day to Remember!

On Friday 6th June, Windmill Integrated Primary School was proud to host the Tri-County Football Tournament at the home of none other than the Irish Cup Champions, Dungannon Swifts. What an incredible opportunity it was for our pupils to play on such prestigious turf, and we are hugely grateful to Dungannon Swifts for their continued support of youth football.

A huge thank you goes to Dixie Robinson for expertly organising the fixtures and to the Swifts Academy players, who did a fantastic job refereeing the matches throughout the day.

This year marked an exciting development with the introduction of a girls’ tournament – and we’re thrilled to announce that Windmill’s girls team were crowned champions, defeating St Patrick’s in a spirited and hard-fought final. A fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work and dedication of our players and coaches.

The weather was on our side, making it a perfect day for sport and community spirit. We’re very grateful to Polka Dot Photos for capturing the action and memories with some fantastic photography.

We would also like to thank our generous supporters:
• Tesco for supplying fresh fruit and water for all the teams,
• and McDonald’s for providing fruit parcels, bottles of water and Fruit Shoots to keep everyone refreshed.

Finally, thanks to all the schools and teams who took part – their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and team spirit made the day a real celebration of youth football.

We look forward to hosting again next year!

Thanks
Sandra
